The Pearl of the Ammerland.

Bad Zwischenahn.

Bad Zwischenahn – The state-approved moorland spa in the district of Ammerland has been a popular holiday destination since the middle of the 19th century. Main attraction and centre of the almost 130 m² community has always been the lake Zwischenahner Meer – the “Pearl of the Ammerland” – with a surface of 526 hectares the third largest lake in Lower Saxony.

Chose among the around 380 kilometres well-signposted foot and cycle lanes and take a walk or a bike trip, or take a boat trip with the “White Fleet” on the lake. A special attraction in May and June are the thousands of flourishing rhododendrons. The vicinity to the North Sea (approx 70 kilometres to the north) provides Bad Zwischenahn, which was bestowed the title “Bad” in the year 1919, with a mild bracing climate. Thanks to the ever prevailing winds the air is almost dust-free and even in summer has low ozone levels.
